Waveplates
(Half-waveplate & Quater-waveplate) are usually made of crystal
quartz in a such way that the optical axis of the crystal lies in
the plate wave plane. Axicon produces Waveplates designed as High-,
Low- and Zero-Order waveplates.
Zero-Order waveplates produces
as a assembly of two plate substrates separated
by air-gap or optically contacted each other.
Zero-Order waveplates are, in fact, temperature-independent and can
be used for a wide spectral band along with a single wavelength.
At adequately chosen thickness High-Order
waveplates can be made for two wavelengths.
